The Boston Fed has, he says, an “intense curiosity in ‘racial justice’ activism,” a matter “fraught with ideological assumptions and interpretations.” Toomey says the financial institution “seems to imagine that financial disparities … can solely be defined by racial animus.” Boston Fed publications assert a “steady epidemic of racially motivated systemic violence in opposition to Black lives,” and demand that “Black, Latinx, and Indigenous folks stay every day getting ready to socioeconomic collapse.” The financial institution favors political motion in opposition to American society, which “nonetheless is deliberately formed by racism.”
